ABOUT
Christoph Hermann is an industrial designer and digital craftsman with an entrepreneurial spirit. With his clients and partners he sets out to create iconic products that matter – products that connect with contemporary values. At the heart of his work lies a passion for uncovering the hidden potential of materials and manufacturing processes, which he undertakes in a spirit of curiosity and experimentation.
CURICULUM VITAE
After completing his MSc in architecture at the Zaha Hadid studio at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, in June 2010, Christoph started working for the renowned industrial designer Ross Lovegrove. Since that time he has been involved in numerous multidisciplinary projects. In 2012, Christoph became head of Lovegrove’s industrial design department. In the same year, he founded his own studio in order to pursue design ventures with start-ups, build strategic partnerships with established companies and redefine the user experience from the ground up. He is currently juggling his personal work with his commitments at Ross Lovegrove studio.
CAPABILITIES
Christoph’s industry experience along with his mastery of digital design and a multidisciplinary approach have led him to develop his own innovative methods and workflows for crafting highly informed, digital models. Christoph’s collaboration with brands, start-ups, research facilities and fellow designers has resulted in product design, furniture design and exhibition installations that transcend traditional boundaries.
BUSINESS MODEL
The business models I’m working with allow me to collaborate with clients and partners on a variety of programs across diverse fields. For programs that can’t be handled by one person alone, I tap into my extensive network of creative talents to find the most suitable partners for the job.
DESIGN VENTURES
We get to work – together! We roll our sleeves up and make things. I am interested in developing true partnerships with entrepreneurs, where cash fees are greatly reduced and a royalty/equity arrangement is put in place. These partnerships are my most common type of working arrangement.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS
I see this as collaborations on a retainer- or program-basis with medium- to large-sized companies focused on consumer/market strategy and new product development.
